As you will see the forebears and former regiments of the Royal Green Jackets were the innovators of modern day infantry tactics who concentrated on individual marksmanship, self-discipline and a mutual respect between all ranks. The remainder of the Army has long since adopted these principals and today THE RIFLES, (formed in 2007 from The Royal Green Jackets, The Light Infantry, The Devon & Dorset Light Infantry and The Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire Wiltshire Light Infantry) continue to lead the way and improve upon the original concepts.  

The Internet branch which forms part of this website was formed to meet the need felt by ex members of the Regiment to continue the comradeship and mutual support they enjoyed when they served within their respective Battalions as Regular, Conscripted or Territorial soldiers. We are justly proud of the fact that we continue to be an active part of the Regimental family through membership of the Internet branch, a family that collectively represents three of the most famous regiments in the modern British Army.
