There are four software packages which you are recommended to download. They are all free and will provide you with the means to download swiftly and access certain files on this site that are presented using these software packages.

WinZip is a compression programme that will allow large files to be made smaller for transmitting by email or in this case downloading from the Internet. For people with slow connections this is important because the smaller the file the less time they have to stay on line either sending or downloading. Once WinZip is installed right clicking on any file on your computer will produce a drop down menu which includes the option to zip or shrink the file for sending via email and if you are receiving a zipped file will also allow you to unzip it to normal size and read it. The compression ratio is variable but has a default setting that reduces a file by about two thirds.

Adobe Acrobat Reader is a file reader which if you have loaded on your system will allow you to read any file sent to you in that format but its biggest advantage is its ability to convert any type of file , no matter what programme it is created in, into Acrobat or PDF format and retain the formatting, layout and pictures of the file exactly as they were produced in the original programme. Acrobat will also reduce a document file size in most cases.

Free Download Manager accelerates downloads by splitting files into sections and then downloading them simultaneously. As a result download speed increases up to 600%, or even more! FDM can also resume broken downloads so you needn`t start downloading from the beginning after casual interruption.

Java Technology only loads when required and will allow you to use the live chat room as well as running on line games etc.
